Amid the Hindi-Marathi debate, and on her 50th birthday, Bollywood star Kajol found herself at the center of a small controversy, and the internet can’t stop talking about it.
The actress was honored with the Raj Kapoor Award at the Maharashtra State Film Awards 2025 in Mumbai on August 5. After receiving the award, she stopped to chat with reporters. A video from the event has since gone viral and is grabbing attention for more than just her big win.

In the clip, Kajol is seen switching smoothly between Marathi and English, thanking the government and the jury for the recognition. She called the award a “big deal” and looked clearly touched by the moment.

Kajol, known for her quick wit, responded with a hint of sarcasm, saying, “Abhi main Hindi mein bolu?” (Now should I speak in Hindi too?) Then she added, “Jisko samajhna hai samajh lenge.” (Those who want to understand will figure it out.)
